What is the Solea® Laser?

It’s an isotopic CO2 laser that operates at a unique wavelength (9.3 microns), producing a very narrow, intense beam of light energy. It’s the first laser approved by the FDA for both hard and soft tissue. Solea helps take the drill, needle, noise, and pain out of dental visits.

How is the Solea® laser used?

The Solea laser is very versatile. So, Dr. Kat may use it to prepare a tooth for a filling, to contour or reshape gum tissue or for Snore Treatments. Because it’s quick and effective, it’s a great option for children or anyone who feels anxious about their visits to the dentist.

Does the Solea® laser hurt?

Actually, one of the benefits our patients like best about the use of the Solea is the fact that 95% of our routine procedures can be done without anesthesia – so there’s less anxiety and discomfort. And there’s no more of that “fat lip” feeling when you leave the office.

How is it compared to traditional techniques?

In many cases, there are fewer risks using the Solea® laser than traditional techniques. It’s more precise and reduces bacteria and bleeding, speeding healing times, increasing comfort and reducing the time it takes to perform procedures. It also eases anxiety by eliminating the need for needles and drills.
